Microsoft Force Upgrades Windows 10 1903 Devices to 1909 - Web Inter Secure

 In order to end its support for Windows 10 1903 OS version, Microsoft has started upgrading devices with Windows 10, version 1903 to Windows 10, version 1909.

From December 8, 2020, onwards, version 1903 of Windows 10 will end its support for the systems and the updates related to new security patches will no longer be provided to the devices carrying this version. So, it will be best if you go for the latest update to let your systems remain secured.

Recently, on November 10, 2020, version 1809 of Windows 10, ended its support for the systems.


So, the date December 8, 2020, has been marked by Microsoft for the end of support for version 1903. But the users need not worry, because the company is offering an alternative. Microsoft will begin force-upgrading devices in order to protect them from vulnerabilities and threats. The devices will get force-upgraded to version 1909 from version 1903. Microsoft will cover almost every device with version 1903; however, some devices might escape from this force-upgrade by their capabilities. But Microsoft has however urged the customers to upgrade their devices as soon as possible.


When Is Windows 10 1903 Ending Its Support for the Systems?

Microsoft in its recent announcement has already reminded the users about the end-of-support of version 1903 for their systems and has already urged users to update their systems to version 1909.

All the OS and the server editions of version 1903, will reach the end of service by December 8, 2020. The systems with outdated versions like 1903, will not be provided with any further updates. Microsoft’s targeted systems include Windows 10 Home, Education, Pro Education, IoT Enterprise, Pro, Enterprise, Pro for Workstation, Enterprise, and IoT Enterprise running version 1903.

Is Windows 10 1909 Update Mandatory?

Undoubtedly, it is. The first initiative will be from Microsoft’s end. The company will try to force-upgrade the devices to version 1909. Microsoft has already stated it in their recent announcement. According to Microsoft’s announcement, the company will start updating the user’s systems to Windows 10, version 1909 from 1903. The update will happen at a faster pace; however, it will be much similar to the monthly update that users receive on their systems.

If your device skips this force-upgrade due to some internal issues and you, however, want to apply it, then you can do it manually by using the inbuilt function “Check for updates” on your Windows 10 device.
